YELLOW JOURNALISM

Yellow journalism refers to newspaper reporting in the mid to late 1890s that embraced dramatic headlines and exaggerated storylines about crime, corruption, sex, and scandal in order to increase circulation numbers and revenue.

The pinnacle of Yellow Journalism is how the newspapers reported the sinking of the U.S.S. Maine off the coast of Cuba. Editors, like William Hearst and Joseph Pulitzer, knew that an international conflict would significantly boost sales and revenue. So to help encourage a war, they used their newspapers and exaggerated headlines to sway public opinion against Spain and in favor of war.

1) how corporate newsrooms are now filled with security state agents.
2) these security state agents. even as employees of "news" outlets, still equate dissent with terrorism.
3) liberal outlets view DNC critics as the equivalent of ISIS.

In 2019, @mtaibbi compiled a list over the course of several tweets of just some of the security state agents who are now officially on the payroll of major news outlets, principally NBC & CNN. It's easily one of the most under-covered media trends.

Whatever flaws existed in liberal corporate media prior to Trump were severely exacerbated in the Trump era. They dispensed with all standards. Remember: one of the left-liberal's favorite MSNBC hosts aired a Jon Chait/NY Mag cover story under the title: "UNLIKELY BUT POSSIBLE".

These are the people who want to censor the internet on the grounds that you're not responsible enough to disseminate information and therefore they -- media and tech overlords -- are needed to police the discourse and stop disinformation.

These are pure disinformation agents.
