Censorship

Apple rejected YouTube-competitor Odysee from the App Store because a video had pepe the frog as a thumbnail — and because Odysee refused to filter Covid videos out of search results

The Apple censorship team once rejected the Odysee app from the Apple App Store because of videos containing images of Pepe the Frog. Apple made no such demands of Odysee’s competitor, Google’s YouTube.

Apple also demanded Covid-related terms be filtered out of Odysee search results.

Screenshot of a LBRY tweet, November 28th 2022: During Covid, Apple demanded our apps filter some search terms from being returned. If we did not filter the terms, our apps would not be allowed in the store.

Apple may make good products, but they have been opposed to free speech for some time. Apple disallowed almost anything related to Covid, especially vaccines or human origins of the virus. We had to build a list of over 20 terms to not show results for, only on Apple devices. Apple also later rejected us because users included Pepe images in videos.

The email Apple sent Odysee rejecting their app because of a user’s frog image:

Email from Apple App Store to LBRY about banning the LBRY app:

Regarding 1.1, we continue to find that your app or metadata includes content that some users may find upsetting, offensive, or otherwise objectionable. Specifically, Pepe the Frog. To resolve this issue, it would be appropriate to remove all potentially objectionable content from your app and metadata and submit your revised binary for review. We look forward to reviewing your resubmitted app. Best regards, App Store Review

These restrictionist media and surveillance firms like Apple and Google all work to protect each other, and to protect the corrupt establishment. They will do anything to prevent new competitors from expanding freedom of expression, outside of the control of the Big Tech oligarchs. They act exactly like a protectionist cartel; a criminal conspiracy.

Combined, Apple and Google control 98% of the mobile marketplace.

NPR: Another Cover-Up for the Biden Family’s Criminal Behavior

NPR Public Editor: Why haven't you seen any stories from NPR about the NY Post's Hunter Biden story? We don't want to waste our time on stories that are not really stories, and we don't want to waste the listeners' and readers' time on stories that are just pure distractions. - Terence Samuels, NPR's Managing Editor for News on the NY Post Hunter Biden story

We have Hunter Biden on video saying Russian blackmailers stole his laptop, and NPR refuses to cover the subject because an election was looming. The media is not in the truth business. NPR is not a news organization. All you get is extremely controlled propaganda.

Media corporations refused to cover the story, social media sites banned you for sharing links about it, and it is now all admitted to be true. With such a gigantic cover-up, you’d think some people would be getting arrested..

Twitter Bans People for Saying “Men Aren’t Women”

You are not allowed to disagree with the State-enforced gender ideology. You will be removed from the public conversation. You may even get a visit from the cops. It’s a great way to manufacture fake consensus for unpopular ideas; just delete and threaten everyone who disagrees with you.

Article screenshot from The Federalist: "Twitter Permanently Bans Feminist For Writing That Men Aren't Women"

Last week, the social media giant permanently banned Meghan Murphy, a writer based in British Columbia, for critiquing transgender ideology online. The platform repeatedly suspended her account for this then ultimately banned her last week, saying such behavior "violated [its] rules against hateful conduct."

At Feminist Current, Murphy writes about her ban:

What is insane to me, though, is that while Twitter knowingly permits graphic pornography and threats on the platform (I have reported countless violent threats, the vast majority of which have gone unaddressed), they won't allow me to state very basic facts, such as 'men aren't women'.

They have used this rule to clear out many political commentators they want silenced too. If you are not a fully brainwashed left winger, they can find a way to sweep you out of the public conversation. They have defined perfectly normal beliefs as “hate” now, and apply the rules selectively to remove whoever they want.

The Guardian kicks off the mainstream media censorship campaign against Substack

They go on to name Substack’s payment processor in a bid to get things shut down.

Article screenshot from The Guardian, written by Dan Milmo: Anti-vaxxers making ‘at least $2.5m’ a year from publishing on Substack.

Center for Countering Digital Hate research calculates that anti-vaccine figures could be making $12.5m from the online platform.

A group of vaccine-sceptic writers are generating revenues of at least $2.5m (£1.85m) a year from publishing newsletters for tens of thousands of followers on the online publishing platform Substack, according to new research.

Prominent figures in the anti-vaccine movement including Dr Joseph Mercola and Alex Berenson have large followings on Substack, which has more than 1 million paying subscribers who sign up for individual newsletters from an array of authors who include novelist Salman Rushdie, the writer musician Patti Smith and former Downing Street adviser Dominic Cummings.

Opposing experimental vaccines is “hate” now, and the Center for Countering Digital Hate will come after you. Who funds this censorship advocacy group? They won’t say. But the corrupt media sure does love them.

They made a bizarre 1 minute video trying to make scientific debate seem ominous:

Canadian Journalist Quits CBC After Admitting the Network Pumps Out Far Left Propaganda and Ignores Real Issues

"Ex-CBC journalist Tara Henley declares on Substack that she quit her job due to the public broadcaster's shifting politics", by Charlie Smith.

A Toronto journalist with deep roots in Vancouver has written an incendiary post explaining why she resigned from the public broadcaster.

Tara Henley opened her piece on the Substack platform by revealing that she's been hearing complaints about the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, where she worked for several years.

"People want to know why, for example, non-binary Filipinos concerned about a lack of LGBT terms in Tagalog is an editorial priority for the CBC, when local issues of broad concern go unreported," she wrote. "Or why our pop culture radio show’s coverage of the Dave Chappelle Netflix special failed to include any of the legions of fans, or comics, that did not find it offensive. Or why, exactly, taxpayers should be funding articles that scold Canadians for using words such as 'brainstorm' and “lame.' "

The answer, according to her, is that working at CBC now "is to accept the idea that race is the most significant thing about a person, and that some races are more relevant to the public conversation than others".

"It is, in my newsroom, to fill out racial profile forms for every guest you book; to actively book more people of some races and less of others," she added.

Henley suggested that the focus on racial issues is resulting in less scrutiny of other issues that affect large numbers of people, such as the housing crisis, lockdowns, vaccine mandates, accumulation of wealth by billionaires and power by bureaucrats, and the rising total of overdose deaths.

She linked the CBC's current approach to "a radical political agenda that originated on Ivy League campuses in the United States and spread through American social media platforms that monetize outrage and stoke societal division".

"It used to be that I was the one furthest to the left in any newsroom, occasionally causing strain in story meetings with my views on issues like the housing crisis," Henley wrote. "I am now easily the most conservative, frequently sparking tension by questioning identity politics. This happened in the span of about 18 months. My own politics did not change."

She says: “In a short period of time, the CBC went from being a trusted source of news to churning out clickbait that reads like a parody of the student press.”

She says working at the CBC is to “abandon journalistic integrity” and to “sign on, enthusiastically, to a radical political agenda”.
